Short Bio

Xiaojian Zhang is a postdoctoral fellow in Dr. Wan’s lab. He is interested in ecology and evolution of the influenza A viruses and the interaction between influenza A viruses and hosts. He pays special attention to influenza in swine since swine is a natural host for influenza A virus and contributes to human pandemic strain generation by ressortment. His research focus on transmission and adaptation of avian influenza viruses to swine, and the ressortment between avian and swine influenza A viruses.
