This position is created to perform research in the areas of computational biology and bioinformatics at a leadership level. The incumbent is expected to develop and validate new algorithms and tools to accomplish scientific objectives related to understanding infectious diseases such as influenza. The ability to lead publications and serve as a resource to other members in our lab is key to this position.

  • Postdoctoral Associates

    We are seeking applications for Postdoctoral Associates in the fields of glycoproteomics and/or virology. The successful candidate should be highly motivated and able to work independently, but integrate well within a team with diverse background. The following positions are open:

    Postdoc Position in Glycobiology

    The responsibilities of the position are:

    • To implement and develop glycobiology approaches by using mass spectrometry instruments, HPLC and other equipment to collect glycomics and proteomics data.
    • To perform analyses of glycomics and proteomics data.
    • To record all methods, results, and other relevant information in an organized manner as instructed by the Principal Investigator.
    • To prepare manuscripts, project reports and other documents and to assist in grant preparation.
    • To train graduate and postdoctoral researchers in glycomics and proteomics data collection and analyses.

    Postdoc position in Virology or Immunology

    The responsibilities of the position are:

    • To develop and apply novel methods for influenza vaccine strain selection.
    • To develop novel vaccines and antiviral therapy for influenza and emerging pathogens (e.g. SARS-CoV-2).
    • To study the impacts of repeated vaccination on vaccine effectiveness
    • To study molecular mechanisms of virus transmission, pathogenesis, and immunological responses for influenza viruses and emerging pathogens (e.g., SARS-CoV-2).
